The Problem at the Pentagon
Domestic terrorism is bad. Its senior enablers in the military are worse.
After Donald Trump lost the election, he started to panic. On November 3rd, the election was held, but it was not totally clear that Trump had lost until the networks called the race shortly before noon on the 7th November. By that time, it was Saturday.
Here’s what happened next, and this timeline should terrify you. Because you are looking at the Mike Flynn nexus around national security and the Pentagon, up to and including the former acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller.
Nov 9th - the first full business day after the race is called for Joe Biden, Mark Esper is replaced as Acting Sec Def by Christopher Miller. It’s important to note that this was really Day One after the election was settled.
Nov 10th - Kash Patel is made Chief of Staff at the Pentagon, Michael Ellis was made General Counsel of NSA and Ezra Cohen Watnick was made acting undersecretary of intelligence at the Pentagon. So, day one Christopher Miller is appointed and day two Miller appoints three men who are extremely close to Mike Flynn and Devin Nunes to key intelligence positions.
Nov 25th - Mike Flynn receives a full pardon
Jan 4th - Capitol Police, acting on FBI intelligence of riots at the Capitol, request National Guard assistance. It is denied.
Jan 4th - 6th - Russian speaking Americans discuss, in advance, an attack on the US Capitol, using martial language, and they predict that Mayor Bowser will be denied relief. The denial, listed above, was not public knowledge.
Jan 6th Seditious terrorists storm the Capitol
Jan 6th - Mayor Bowser and Chief Sund of the Capitol Police call the Pentagon, reporting breaches of security and imploring the National Guard be activated. Permission is denied
Jan 6th - the Governor of Maryland, also reporting calls for assistance from Sund and Bowser, is denied permission by Miller to help
Jan 6th-12th the Washington Post reports the Pentagon repeatedly falsely denied to them that Gen Charles Flynn, Mike Flynn’s brother, was present in the room
January 15th - My Pillow CEO meets Trump at the White House carrying notes on martial law
Jan 15th - I identify the lawyer referred to in those notes as Frank Colon, a veteran of the Navy’s JAG Corps who has held senior posts as a lawyer in some of our most sensitive security areas both in the military and intelligence. Team Patriot researchers on Twitter identify Colon’s social media account as being openly seditious and crammed with conspiracy theories
Jan 15th - despite a whitewashing profile in the New Yorker magazine, portraying Colon as merely a bemused lawyer who was taken aback by Lindell’s notes, I reached out to the United States Army’s Military Intelligence Brigade, to whom Colon is attached, and broke the news that he was under active investigation by the Army. A spokesman confirmed that the matter was being taken seriously.
NEWS: I have reached out to an Army spokesperson @780thC on the lawyer Frank Colon and the Twitter account apparently connected to him and have been told that the Army is aware of the situation and the matter is under investigation.Frank Colon presents a gigantic issue for the Army. His LinkedIn shows that he has held extremely senior positions as a lawyer around military intelligence, working at the heart of Ft. Meade, where the NSA is located. The “MyPillow” notes not only proposed Colon as National Security Adviser, and call for martial law, which got all the headlines, they say that Colon is “up to speed on election issues” indicating that Mike Lindell or an ally has spoken to him. They suggest active conspiracy in the US military involving Frank Colon - the sentence fragments visible in the photograph show that Lindell, at least, is asserting that Colon has “already spoken” to “people he knows who already have security clearances”, that he is “an attorney with cybersecurity expertise” - say that again, he works with the NSA.
The other names Lindell is suggesting, of course, include Kash Patel, the lackey of Devin Nunes and failed hunter of Chris Steele, one of the most notorious pro-Russia trolls in the entire Trump administration. He was rolled into be Chief of Staff to Chris Miller, who delayed the National Guard’s deployment to the Pentagon. Meaning that, unbelievably, the FBI now has to start looking at Kash Patel’s contacts with Frank Colon.
It is hard to get our heads around what happened on January 6th and the ostensibly senior, well-qualified people who were willing to believe conspiracy theories and engage in open treason. That multiple of them were directly linked at the most senior level to the Pentagon and the Department of Defense indicates a shocking rot at the highest levels. Colon’s open-source Twitter account indicates he was amenable to communicating with accounts that promoted QAnon, Russian-driven conspiracy theories and so on. Why wasn’t it picked up earlier? Colon’s high security clearance and direct level of involvement with the NSA and military intelligence is one reason, no doubt. This man was not Sidney Powell; he was not Kash Patel; he was, on paper, highly qualified, solidly experienced. Had he not trumpeted treason on his own Twitter timeline, it’s more than possible that things might have turned out far worse for America than they did.
My next piece will take a look at the lower ranks in the insurrection and how Russia groomed many of them.
